1st gen Toyota MR2 + Honda K20A2 engine and transmission. It's been proven to be possible and now I can't get it out of my head. For even more lunacy, toss in a Comptech supercharger kit for the K20A2 and....oh dear, I need new pants.
And then there's this...
Simpson Design Italia II GTB (uses an NB Miata donor chassis) with a Honda S2000 powertrain.
Mmmmmm....donuts...
Thoughts?

And to think the 20V 4A-GE was deadly.

I was looking at the picture, and I was thinking... something just isn't quite right. It needs to lose the winglets on the nose, and needs moar ducktail.... lets see what other pictures they have. And voila.
the GTO version

I still prefer the GTB version, haha. I think part of it is the louvres.

You do have a point, I can dig it. I like that they tied the duck tail in instead of looking so tacked on as an afterthought.

Thats what it was for me too, well that and the taillights. Remind me of this a little in a very good way.

Yup... I'm having trouble shaking a tuned 2.0T from a Hyundai Genesis into a Miata would be good. Stage 2 tunes put those at something like 300+ hp and 350+lbsft. The new Mustang Ecoboost could be a tasty swap as well. I'm just trying to think stock boosted engines that could be as light or lighter than an LS, while also being more interesting. It would be fun to ring up that shop in Texas that overhauls S2k engines. I don't remember what they are called but it makes well over 300hp NA.

Hyundai's quoted weight on those is about 50 lbs less than an LS3.

Maybe some day... would be a lot more interesting than an LS swap just because its played out, and because of the power delivery.

What's "played out" about a cost-effective and durable power plant that weighs negligibly more than a four-cylinder alternative and pulls like a locomotive on hydrazine?
